1999 VW Motorsport prepared Polo 1.4 16v, with only 18000 miles from new!

The car has been only lightly used from new; before I bought it 4 years ago, it had covered 14000 miles and had only really done the Endurance Rally Association's Acropolis Rally and the London to Dakar. Since I have had it I have done 6 gravel endurance rallies and a few tarmac events.

The car has been well looked after since new. In June I had the car serviced and checked over by the Rover Centre in St Albans (who prepare endurance rally cars) at a cost of £1000, and the Proflex suspension was reconditioned (£600) by Proflex UK last year and has only done 100 road miles since.

The car was built by VW Motorsport and the original specification has not been changed.
The specification is as follows:
1390 4cl 16v engine, DOHC, 112 bhp, 5 speed gearbox (standard, no LSD/Quiafe box)
Magneti Marelli ECU
Max power 112bhp at 6800rpm, Max torque 103 lb ft @ 4400 rpm
Sachs competition clutch
Remus Sports exhaust
Seam welded and lightened body
Welded in roll cage
OMP Seats and harnesses (NB out of date for MSA logbook)
OMP Plumbed in fire extinguisher (NB out of date for MSA logbook)
Proflex fully adjustable suspension, recently refurbished
Mintex sports brakes
14" steel wheels (no tread left) + extra set (6) alloys with road tyres
Interior map light (not working)
Driving lights
Sump and tank guards.

Additionally I have installed wiring for a Terratrip rally computer (not included). It also comes with standard road going suspension and rear seat for Endurance Rallies. So you'll have a rally car to suit everything!
The bodywork is in good condition, with a few minor dents and scratches and a slightly distorted front bumper. The battery is 2 months old.

There is no rust on the bodywork. There is superficial light surface rust on the underside, as it has not been undersealed to save weight.

The car comes complete with the original FIA homologation papers and an out of date MSA logbook (to renew this, the seats/harnesses and extinguisher will need to be replaced as they are out of date, and a fuel sample take off installed; mudflaps are to current regs). MOT to April 2012.

The car can also be used for Endurance Rallies, as a full set of standard Polo suspension is supplied, along with rear seat (Endurance Rally rules do not allow Proflex suspension). It is ready to go for BTRDA or similar once the car has been log booked.
