Race Cars for sale
Reluctantly I am selling my prized Mini Miglia Challenge, I purchased this car from the successful Miglia driver Endaf Owens
"www.mini7.co.uk/drivers/minimiglia"
with the intention of using the vehicle for track days then move onto hill climbs and sprints.
So a brief description of the car is as follows
Motorsport shell fully prepared for Miglia Challenge series by Endaf Owens and Mark Wanstall (Rightline motorsport). There is simply too much work gone in to preparing this for me to begin to list. The front end of the car has been removed and replaced with a composite removable front end (inc a-panels), access to the engine compartment is via a carbon fibre bonnet. The front bulkhead has been extensively modified to provision the necessary space required for the large ram-air boxes that are used on these cars with weber DCOE carbs. The bulkhead has also been modified so that the roll cage picks up the mounting points for the front subframe (of which additional mounts have been added). The front subframe itself has been modified by strengthening by stitch welding, gussets added, and additional cross bracing between the suspension towers. The subframe mounting bolts have been bored out so that the hi-lo's may be adjusted in-situ. The front dampers fitted are currently some track-spax units, however i will be including some brand new Avo units specifically valved for the Miglia. The tie-roads and bottom arms are custom made units that are
The rear end of the car has had the boot floor removed and carbon fibre moulding fitted, and the rear parcel shelf has also been removed and a carbon fibre insert fitted. The carbon fibre boot floor provides fixing for the bespoke aluminum fuel tank and the facet fuel pump. The rear subframe has been modified in a similar fashion to the front with stitch welding and tubular cross bracing, the mounting of the rear subframe has been modified so that the rear of the car can be made lower to the ground. The rear wheel arches have been modified to allow the car to run lower and clear the wide wheels. The rear roll cage pierces through the rear bulkhead and picks up where the rear damper mounts are, and also the custom rear anti-roll bar. The rear dampers are track spax units. Boot lid is carbon-fibre
All the suspension is completely adjustable for geometry and ride height.
Inside the car there is a very comprehensive bespoke roll cage which makes the shell extremely stiff. There is a brand new red corbeau revolution seat fitted, a data logger is also fitted to the car, along with a LCD display. A fire extinguisher is plumbed into the engine compartment and inside the car. The fuses are all reset-able, and a removeable steering wheel is also fitted. A sealed battery is also present. Steel doors are still fitted to the car for regulations requirements but have been extremely lightened and i believe are foam filled. The dashboard and centre dash column are all carbon fibre.
All the windows are lightweight racing bronze tinted plastic items.
The roll cage is entirely made from the lighter and stronger T45 material, rather than the CDS material that most roll cages are made from.
This car was extremely competitive and used to have to run with 30kg of lead ballast to pass the weight requirement.
The car sits on some MB racing split rims, 10" x 7" fitted with wets. I also have a second set of MB racing split rims (10" x 7") fitted with slicks, I have broke the seal on these as there was a slight leak at the joint. I have some brand new unbrako capscrews and nylocs ready to fit, but I haven't had time to get round to it.
An exhaust from a miglia car is included in the sale.
To finish the car requires an engine, exhaust fitting, associated plumbing sorted, and a gear selector.
I do have some other parts which will be available for an additional cost, but can be discussed at a later date.
Unfortunately I have not had the time since moving house and changing jobs to get the engine in and final bits finished. So there is little chance of me finishing the car in the near (or distant future).
I am after a reasonably quick sale, so offers are invited on this fantastic vehicle.
Just to have a roll-cage like this one fitted to a new shell would cost in the region of £8k so it is considerably cheaper to buy car already fitted with one.
There car is in excellent condition and only took part in 4 miglia races, thereafter the car has remained in storage.
